Kia launched the new Borrego FCEV at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.
Continued innovations in the FCEV programme include a higher output 154 horsepower fuel cell and a new 450-volt Supercapacitor giving the Borrego FCEV higher performance, an extended driving range and the ability to operate in sub zero temperatures.
Available in two and three tank systems, the Borrego FCEV’s power plant is located under the centre floor and boasts an additional 47 horsepower to produce a peak output of an impressive 154horespower, a 44% increase compared to the previous generation. With a top speed of 161kph the Borrego FCEV boasts a “best in class” system efficiency of 62%. With a 202-litre hydrogen storage tank, this latest research model has a range of a staggering 685km.
