Modern, powerful styling with a clear dynamic look differentiates the all-new five or seven-seater Kia Sorento which made its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show on 15th September.

The new Sorento is longer and lower than the current model with a much more spacious and luxurious cabin as well as significantly sleeker with an aerodynamic drag figure of Cd 0.38 – down from 0.43.

The most popular engine choice in Europe is expected to be the all-new 2.2-litre diesel unit from Kia’s ultra-modern ‘R’ family of engines.  Producing 197 ps and 421 Nm of torque, it will be offered with either a six-speed manual or Kia’s all-new world-class six-speed automatic transmission.

Although capable of impressive off-road driving, the new Sorento has been called a ‘Highline Cruiser’ and as such has been created with sophisticated on-road handling and driving dynamics in mind.

Gone is the original Sorento body-on-frame structure, replaced with an all-new monocoque bodyshell which has helped the new model lose 215 kg in weight, greatly improving fuel economy and contributing to a more controlled ride than expected from a 4x4.

High-tech features will include keyless entry, an engine start button, in-mirror reversing camera and a panoramic glass sunroof.
